THE BRIDAL PARTY

At Wannebo's Hall - Over One-Hundred Intimate Friends of the Bride and Groom Present-One of the Most Pleasant Events of the Season.

Yesterday morning occurred the marriage of Mr. Chas. Weston and Miss Agnes Murphy at St. Mary's church, Rev. Father Schwebach officiating. The marriage service was beautiful and impressive and witnessed by a large number of friends. In the afternoon a grand dinner was given to a large number of invited guests. The happy couple are well known residents of La Crosse, and have a host of friends. The bride's family have lived in North La Crosse for over twenty years.
The best part of the day was spent in riding and driving around the city and calling on friends and relatives, and in the evening as per announcement a grand reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents on Caledonia Street. The wedding feast was just too grand for anything. In fact there were so many different and elaborate kinds of eatables it would be impossible for us to give more than a casual mention of them. Three tables were kept continually loaded with refreshments of every description each of which were very finely decorated with beautiful flowers of every kind and color. After passing the evening with plays and games, congratulations, etc; The merry party finnally(sic) adjourned to Wannebo's hall, where the music was ready and waiting to begin the happy dance. The presents were very numerous and costly. We shall not attempt to give all of them as it would be next to an utter impossibility, but will enumerate the most elaborate and expensive. The following are the presents with the names of the givers:
Silver pickel (sic) dish, Capt. Dan Thayer and wife.
Silver fruit dish, Misses Nellie and Rose McGinty and Nell Sullivan.

Standing lamp, George Martin, and numerous other articles which we have not time nor space to mention.

The most noticeable feature of the dance was the French Four of Mr. O. Gorman and Mrs. O'Brien, the heavy weights and Mr. Campbell and Mrs. Dan Thayer, the featherweights.
At about 8 o'clock a crowd of boys gathered in front of the house with the evident intention of charivaring the newly married twain. In order to get rid of them Mrs. Western(sic) gave one of them what he supposed was a silver dollar. They went down town and happening to look at the piece found it to be a twenty dollar gold piece. It was immediately returned much to the gratification of the groom. The following are the names of those present at the dance:
