Mike and date Vanessa on their way to the Prom at St. Augustine's High School in San Diego.  Cool!  And, he plays the saxophone.  What a guy!

Can anyone identify these mystery cousins?  Hint: They are 2nd and 3rd cousins.

 News from a distance:
Florida:
Megan is captain of her volleyball team and celebrated a winning tournament by attending the Homecoming Dance. She was one of 4 students chosen to work on the County Fair exhibit dealing with Early Childhood Education.  A football fan she's happy to report that her varsity team is 6 and 0.

Shawn, who won is letter last year in pole vaulting, is playing football this year and in recent games got two sacks and lots of tackles.  He was in the Homecoming Court and was reported to look studly in his tux.

Both of the twins are looking forward to getting driver's licenses this year.

Elizabeth passed on sports this year but spends lots of time on the trampoline.  She's taking on Algebra I in 8th grade which means she can avoid it in HS.

Scotty just keeps on talking.

Mary Kate's students, as a tribute to the victims of September 11th, submitted 60 essays to the local press.  Her school board is finally promising a decent pay raise for teachers in her district, and she got an unexpected bonus last month.

Rosie at the San Francisco Zoo.  She and brother Liam toured the Zoo for 3 hours non stop.  Then Liam suddenly got very thirsty.

News continued:
Colorado:
Kevin, Brendan and Caleb are all enjoying their new school in Fort Collins.  They like the routine and the good teachers.

Kevin is looking for a Boy Scout Troop to join.

Brendan and Caleb are in the Cub Scouts and Brendan, who learned the clarinet at home is now in the school orchestra.

Caleb was mildly shocked to find he was assigned homework on his first day of school.

All three boys are taking Spanish and Kevin is gaining a reputation as a Spanish chef.

Their school, St. Joseph,  is offering golf in the Spring which excites the boys because they already go up to the course alone and shoot a round when they have time.

Father Liam was stranded in Germany for several days following the Sept. 11th attacks.  He'll be going to France again in October  to present a paper on the commercialization of remote sensing.
